The uniformity clause of the state constitution is not violated if the state legislature, in the exercise of its discretionary powers, classifies as to subject matter of taxation, provided there is a difference constituting a reasonable ground for making a distinction between the subjects, and provided also the classification made bears a reasonable relation to a permitted end of governmental action.
